It’s been a while since I posted on here and to It’s been a while since I posted on here and to be honest, life has been going at wild speeds and that’s probably how we are here. Joining industry from academia has taken me to a point of realization of how wild it be can trying to develop a healthy work-life balance. For some weird reason I can’t keep my eyes open past 10pm anymore(mind you I used to sleep in the AMs). I see the strain my friendships are going through, my volunteer activities are suffering too as is ministry. I am literally just floating. Now that my eyes are open to the realities of my life, what to do becomes the biggest question? Eating, studying,working and sleeping! The Psalmist in Psalm 23 says though I may walk th The Psalmist in Psalm 23 says though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for the Lord my shepherd is with me. Recently, I heard someone say Psalm 23 is David speaking to himself, it is not a praise or worship moment but rather a reminder to oneself of who our Creator is to us. It is quite easy to forget who God is in your life or the precedence He has set in the life of believers when storms arise and winds rage. Where is God and why is this happening to me? Through the words of the prophet Isaiah, God says; “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Another reminder that God is our ever present protector and helper. He is a God of steadfast love, merciful and forever gracious and faithful. And Yes, though life may get hard, it doesn’t take away from who God is, Jesus says in one passage of scripture, when life gets hard, remember it also got hard for me. Scripture says on this earth, you have dominion ov Scripture says on this earth, you have dominion over all things. It is not enough to know this, you need to declare it, make it a belief system that shapes your lifestyle. In Genesis 32 we meet Jacob as He wrestles God and at the end God says because you have prevailed in all things, not just in the fight against God but in all his troubles Jacob had prevailed and that unlocked the blessing of the Lord over His life. Believe in your conquering spirit and see if God won’t show up for you. Even in your desperation like Jacob never forget you have dominion and can rise above all things. Struggle is a part of life and even as Christ walked the earth, He warned us about it. It is possible to know the will of God for our lives and in such instances, when we seek His counsel(out of obedience) on what to do in certain seasons of our lives. His answers are always go/do it and when we invite him to journey with us, the answer is “I will go.” You can’t ask God to sustain your plans and expect His answers to be yes and amen when you are the one who is here to fulfill His will. His answers are only yes and amen when the situations are for His purpose. This is also the lesson in 2 Kings 6: 1-7.
